Detour's Movement for Trauma Continuing Education Module will build a foundational understanding of how traumatic stress impacts the autonomic nervous system, fascia and brain. Taught by Jane Clapp, creator of the Movement for Trauma program, this course is designed for movement professionals who wish to begin weaving trauma intelligence into their practice. Participants will build a toolkit of techniques that promote nervous system regulation (from both the client and instructor perspectives), examine sitting vs. moving in mindful practices to regulate the ANS and use the intelligence of our own bodies to read and listen to clients, thereby fostering healthy emotional and energetic boundaries.
Students should have a basic understanding of their own responses to stress and trauma, perhaps have engaged in their own psychotherapy, and be willing to go to greater emotional and spiritual depths within themselves and with their clients.

In order to receive your Movement for Trauma Level 1 certification, you will need to complete assigned readings on the topic of pelvic health and pass a test to demonstrate your knowledge of the material. The test will be administered online at the conclusion of the training.
